This picture relates to my service in a big way. My service project was to work at "Homework Club" at my old elementary school. Homework Club is an after school program that allows student's to catch up on homework, assignments, projects, and have a fun time! In this picture you can see that a student is confused about what to do for his assignment. This is a good picture because at homework club provide help for students that may not understand their assignment or how to do something. All you have to do is raise your hand and there will be a student, teacher, or faculty work by your side helping you. Each student has their own intelligence level. Some understand lessons better than others and some work faster than others. In homework club none of that matters. No matter what your work pace is or what you need help with, there's always going to be somebody there to help you.

Life Experience
This project was such a life experience and it has definitely impacted me in many ways. It has taught me to not take anything for granit and respects your peers and others around you. Working with all the kid's and teachers has most definitely built up my leadership skills and communication skills. Service is very important in life because it's always good to give back to the community. Giving back to the community makes everybody feel good about themselves and at the end of the day you feel you have completed a good deed. Doing service has made me think about alot and has changed me as a person. When I say it has changed me as a person, I mean that I take a different view on life now. Whenever I walk through the halls of school, I see bullying and people picking on one another. This makes me think about how Homework Club none of this is an issue. Everybody is treated equally no matter what their skin color is or religious background. Service is important for the dignity of others because it make's people feel good about themselves. It makes them feel that they can achieve something if they keep at it and that people do care about them. Seeing these teachers create a bond with each individual is something special and you just wish that it could always be like that. Service is so important and I wish people gave more of their time to help others and make people feel good.
Common Good
This servic project that I have done is a great opportunity for young kid's to get a head start on assignments and recieve any extra help that they may need. This project is helpful to the community becuase many kid's can't go home directly after school. Since some of those kid's can't go home right after school, they go to homework club. Homework Club is a safe environment that keeps kid's off the streets and in school to get a jump start on school work. Teachers take time out of their day to make sure that these students are recieving the help that they need. Teacher's spend enough hours as it is teaching students, so why would they want to teach a few more hours after school? Teacher's do this becuase they want what's best for the students and keep them in a safe environment. My experience working with these kid's has impacted me in a big way. It make's me realize that you do have people who care about your needs and there's teachers that are willing to sit down and help you. Not only are the teachers there just to teach, but they build friendships with these students and that's what i'd like to take and apply to my interaction with my peers. At MSJ they already have programs such as homework club. Some of these programs include Ryken, DePaul, NHS, and many others.

Human Dignity
At my service learning project, Human Dignity was seen throughout the Homework Club. Human dignity is the way people may be treated and just the self respect a person deserves. At Homework Club there were a wide variety of young kids that have different ethnic backgrounds, but that doesn't mean a thing at this club. In this club, students are taught to be treated with self respect know matter who they are or what race they come from. Not once did I see another students dignity be tampered with or even miss treated. Each individual is treated with care and respect and they all work as a team to get all their assignments completed neatly and correctly. Some of the students are white, black, muslim, jewish, indian, and we even had a intellectualy disabled student participate in the club. Each student has their own level of intelligence and has their own sense of how much work they can do and cannot do. Even though a student may be disabled or different color as you, that doensn't give you the right to treat them with any less respect than you recieve.
